This is a guideline. Add or delete items based on what works for you.
Remember:
This is a river trip, not a backpacking trip.
We can carry a lot of weight — just don’t go too overboard.
Bags
- 2 dry bags
- You should be able to fit all your gear into two reasonably sized dry bags
- These will be secured in the cargo hold during the day
- You will not have access to them while on the river
- Do not plan on opening these until camp
- 1 day bag
- For items you want during the day
- Clothing layers
- Sunscreen
- Lip balm
- Anything you may need while on the water

- Each boat generally has one
- If you want your own, feel free to bring one
Clothing
On the River
Think layers.
- Dry suit (or dry bottom and dry top)
- Dry suit strongly preferred in winter
- This is a spring trip, so not mandatory
- Helmet
- Highly recommended
- Bike helmet works
- Spares available
- PFD (life jacket)
- Knife (optional, on PFD)
- Whistle (recommended, on PFD)
- Neoprene gloves if your hands get cold
- Socks that fit inside dry suit
- Shoes or booties that fit over dry suit socks
- Shirts (layering system)
