Fascism

Fascism is a political system characterized by:

  1. Dictatorial leadership
Power is concentrated in a single leader who is glorified and above legal limits.

  2. Suppression of opposition
Dissent is punished through censorship, surveillance, imprisonment, or violence.

  3. Ultranationalism
The nation is portrayed as supreme; loyalty is demanded, and outsiders are often scapegoated.

  4. State control of society and economy
Media, education, and the economy are controlled to align with state ideology.

  5. Militarism and violence
War and force are glorified as tools for national strength and unity.

  6. Propaganda and mass mobilization
The state uses propaganda to shape public opinion and maintain control.

  7. Anti-democratic and anti-liberal values
Fascism rejects individual rights, pluralism, and democratic institutions.

  8. Cult of tradition and mythic past
Glorifies a “golden age” or national myth to legitimize its rule and suppress change.

  9. Scapegoating and racism
Blames minorities or outsiders for national problems to unite supporters against a common enemy.
