Emoji means “picture character” in Japanese: e = picture and moji = character.

1. Press fn (globe key) twice and say the emoji name (e.g., “Smiling Face Emoji”).

2. Open Character Viewer (Control + Command + Space > Click Emoji & Symbols in the bottom-right).
