Clarity extends on a continuum from unclear to partially clear to clear.

  1. Figure out exactly what you want to say.

  2. Figure out the best ways to achieve clarity: examples, definitions, precise language and so on.

  3. Assess and improve the clarity.

Tips

  1. AI Assistants (ChatGPT, Gemini, CoPilot) are super useful.

    1. Suggested Prompt: Assess this text for clarity.
  2. In oral comm, ask people if they can paraphrase so that you can check to see if you are clear or not.

  3. Accept that you can be clear but this does not mean people will respond in the ways you want them to respond.
